Michael McElveen Obituary

Michael “Bubba” McElveen, 44, passed away peacefully on April 7, 2016 with his loving family at his bedside. He was born on November 18, 1971 in Norwalk, Connecticut to Everlean Williamson McElveen of Norwalk, CT. and the late Deacon Haywood McElveen, Sr. Michael previously served as a Physical Director of George Washington Carver Community Center and was a committed founder of Teaching Mentoring Through Basketball (TMT). He was a member of El Shaddai Ministry of Norwalk. Michael’s memory will be treasured by his mother; Mrs. Everlean Williamson McElveen, two sisters; Jacqueline McElveen Brickhouse and Evelyn Shirell Rogers, two brothers; Pastor Haywood McElveen, Jr. (Marion) and Mark McElveen (Betty), a devoted girlfriend; Michele Felder and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, godchildren, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 15, 2016 from 9:30 AM – 11:00 AM, followed by a service of celebration at 11:00 AM at Grace Baptist Church, 17 West Ave. Norwalk, CT. with Rev. Dr. Lindsay Curtis officiating. Entombment will follow at Mt. Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport, CT. Services entrusted to Downer Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Michael’s memory to TMT Basketball, P.O. Box 134, Norwalk, CT. 06852, Contact Terrence Fuller @ 203-515-7775 [email protected].
