Dixie Falldorf Obituary

Dixie Ann was born in Grand Island, Nebraska on August 3, 1945 to Edwin and Catherine Isakson. She had two older brothers Jim, Steve (diseased) and an older sister Shirley who passed as an infant. Edwin and Catherine divorced and she married Willard Lorenz who had two sons Terry and Pat. Together they had five children Cathy, Chuck, Larry, Lorry and Debbie who was born on Dixie's 16th birthday. Catherine and Willard divorced and she married Ray Feierfeil. Ray helped raise the younger children and moved the family from Nebraska to California. Dixie married Ken Falldorf on November 17, 1963. In 1968, Ken and Dixie moved from Grand Island to Redondo Beach with their two daughters Renae and Denise (Chris). Dixie started working for the American Motors Corporation as a PBX Operator. She worked her way up in the company eventually becoming the first female District Service Manager. She continued to work in the automotive industry as a Warranty Administrator until her retirement. In around 1975 the family moved to Torrance where she resided until her passing.

Dixie enjoyed spending time with her family including her four grandchildren Peter (Jun), Sarah (Brett), Emma, and Molly (Daniel) and two great-childern Bodhi and Lily. She was very involved in the Lutheran Women's Missionary League at Ascension Lutheran Church in Torrance where she also sang in the choir. She regularly attended bible study and spent time every day reading her Bible. Ken and Dixie were members of the Moose lodge where they played Farkle with close friends and in earlier years she even taught line dancing.

Dixie passed away unexpectedly on August 1, 2023 two days short of her 78th birthday. She will be sorely missed by all those who knew and loved her. She had a kind, giving spirit and a strong faith in God. She loved her family and friends deeply and unconditionally. Dixie is survived by her loving husband Ken, two daughters, four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, five brothers, three sisters, numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Her Celebration of Life will be held at Ascension Luthern Church in Torrance on August 26th at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Ascension Lutheran Church LWML (ascensiontorrance.org).

She was the oldest. We were quite the sisterhood. She was my sister, my hero, my salvation, and friend. The family matriarch. Since our Mom's passing. We should have had more years together. You never know the cards life will play,,I will miss you with my every breath. Until we meet again. Rest in peace Big Sis!
