Rosemary Prince Obituary
BROOKTONDALE - Rosemary Prince, age 47, of 712 Harford Road, Brooktondale, NY, passed away Wednesday, November 18, 2009, at the Cayuga Medical Center at Ithaca, NY. Rosemary was born May 30, 1962 in Ithaca, NY, a daughter of George and Sa Malepe Shaw, residing in Brooktondale. Rosemary was married to Dean Prince on July 7, 1979 in Brooktondale. Mr. and Mrs. Prince had been residents of Groton for 10 years prior to relocating to Brooktondale last May. She had been employed at Dairy One and lastly at Cornell University's Quality Milk Production Services. Rosemary enjoyed riding her motorcycle, hunting deer and spending time with family and friends. She was a wonderful daughter, wife, mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed.
Survivors include her parents, George and Sa Shaw of Brooktondale; her husband of 30 years, Dean Prince, Sr. of Brooktondale; her children, Dean (Crystal) Prince, Jr., Deanna (Nicholas) Lane, Mary E. Prince of Cortland; her siblings, George (Margie) Malepe, Sailele Malepe, Ramona (Dean) Teel, Frances (Jerry Cornell) Shaw, Linda (Greg) Nash, Mary (Alvah) Watson, Pat (David) Arsenault, Madoline "Pooh" (Chong You) Shaw, Amber (Greg) Compton; four grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, November 22, 2009, at the Perkins Funeral Home with Rev. Katy Prince officiating. Friends are invited to call from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, 55 West Main Street, Dryden. Memorials are directed to the Slaterville Vol. Fire Dept. Ambulance, P.O. Mom,
This is my first Thanksgiving without you here.I will miss me getting on your butt to get out of the woods and start making Thanksgiving Dinner! Now I will have the honor of carrying out some of the cooking duties that only you could do. I will use lots of butter,salt, pepper, and Soy Sauce!! I miss you mama, but I Love you more. I hope I can continue to make you proud, but most of all I hope everyone can see alot of you in me. Watch over us all today as we celebrate Thanksgiving, but more importantly, as we celebrate you in all the ways you touched us. I love you....

Rose was a wonderful person and co-worker. Every time I saw her she had a smile on her face, always greeted me when I came to the office and at every phone call asked me how I was doing. She will be greatly missed and I extend my condolences to the family during this time.

Thirty years ago we were neighbors in Tillicum, Washington. You and Rose were newly married and it was such a nice surprise to meet people from the Slaterville area when we were from Newark Valley. We have never forgotten the time we spent in Washington with you as our neighbors.
