Sarah Stevenson Obituary
A native of Heath Springs, S.C., she was a daughter of the late Rev. Willie and Alberta Mingo.
Sarah was a civil rights activist. Stevenson's impact on the city of Charlotte includes educational equity and more.
Homegoing services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 5, at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church on Beatties Ford Road, Charlotte, N.C.
McCray Funeral Home is in charge.

Sending condolences and prayers of goodwill to the families gma was a queen of queens to know her was love our small Lutheran family relocated to Clt from philly pa found a blk Lutheran church called prince of peace ( pop)grandma Sarah was the first to greet us with open harms and a sweet gentle touch we became friends and family by love she was a guiding force in our lives just what the dr ordered when we relocated she´s been a big part of our family for 27 yrs we´re grateful to have been in grandma circle her spirit lives on in use

Mother Sarah, a woman of divine strength, dignity, dedication, grace and love. I learned so much from her and thank God for allowing me to glean, grow, sing and sit in her presence; ministering at the Tuesday Morning Community Sessions (formerly), and at the countless Prince of Peace Church worship services/celebrations. Her dedication to education, families, and the community is priceless! Well done Mother Sarah, rest in God. II Thessalonians 2:16,17

I had the privilege of knowing Sarah through the Carolinas District LWML. She immediately became a friend in Christ.
I know her involvement in Charlotte community life was influenced by her Christian example. Love, prayers and thoughts go to her family from Dave and me.
