William Sims Obituary

LANCASTER – William Richard Sims, 54, died Friday, Oct. 25, 2013, at Carolinas Medical Center. 
He was born Sept. 12, 1959, in Monroe, N.C., the son of Frances Blackmon Sims Brazell and the late William Harold Sims. He was the husband of Janet Stevens Sims. Mr. Sims was a self-employed paint contractor and a member of Pleasant Dale Baptist Church. He enjoyed NASCAR racing and was a Harley Davidson motorcycle enthusiast.
Mr. Sims is survived by his mother, Frances Sims Brazell; his wife, Janet Stevens Sims; and his stepson, James Plyler, all of Lancaster.
Mr. Sims was preceded in death by a son, William Richard Sims II; and a brother, Harold E. "Eddie" Sims.
The celebration of life funeral service for Mr. Sims will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29, at Pleasant Dale Baptist Church by Rev. Jesse Adams. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family of Mr. Sims will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 28, at Burgess Funeral Home.
The family suggests memorials be made to Pleasant Dale Baptist Church, Cemetery Fund, 133 S. Potter Road, Lancaster SC 29720.

Sister Frances Sims not sure why i log on to the web news tonight,but my heart sunk when i saw that name.Ricky was like a brother,and you my mom. Often ya'll have been in my prayers.We can't be their tomorrow,But we know the grace of GOD will Help in your time of need.Love Michael Blanton
