Walter Quarles Obituary

Walter Hudson `Hut` Quarles, Sr., 83, Clarksville, died Friday, Jan. 23, 2009, at Gateway Medical Center.
The funeral will be held at 1 p. m. Thursday at Woodlawn Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. C. R. Cheatham officiating.
Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Garden. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Foston Funeral Home with family present 6 p.m. to 8 p.m at Foston Funeral Home.
Foston Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
He was born July 10, 1925 in Clarksville, TN. The son of James Irvin Quarles and Mary Radford Quarles. He was married to Marjorie Roach Quarles for 55 years.
He was a member of Woodlawn Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church. He retired from Civil Service at Ft. Campbell, KY.
Survivors include his wife, Marjorie Roach Quarles, Clarksville, TN., children, Mary (Roger) Matthews, Nashville, TN., Rosie (Michael) Banks, Hawaii, Jannie Hargrove, Walter "Fly" H. Quarles, Jr., James Quarles, Anthony (Carolyn) Quarles, all of Clarksville, TN., Lee (Yolanda) Quarles, Newport News, VA. 8 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren.
