LAKELAND - Melody Yopp Rothberg, 29, of Lakeland, Florida passed away unexpectedly of heart failure on vacation in Tennessee March 28, 2010 while visiting her family.
Melody was born on August 7, 1980, in Lakeland, to James and Lilli Yopp. While growing up, Melody lived in many states, however she returned to Lakeland and graduated from Kathleen Sr. High School in 1999. Melody continued her education and received licenses as a nail technician and aesthetician from Traviss Technical Center. Melody's last place of employment was Lakeland Regional Medical Center where she worked as a cardiac monitor technician. Melody was a full time mother of 3 children.
Melody was predeceased by her father, James F. Yopp, grandparents Laura and George La Barr. She is survived by her husband Benjamin; children, Ashlee Yopp, Logan and Kaleb Roth-berg; devoted mother, Lilli Yopp; brother Eric Yopp and his wife Mindee; nieces Lillian and Aimee; as well as her loving mother and father in-law, Joe and Jeanette Rothberg. Melody is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends that loved her and will miss her every day.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at 7:00 PM at Crystal Lake United Methodist Church, 2001 N. Crystal Lake Dr. Lakeland. The Family requests in lieu of flowers, to honor Melody's memory, make a donation to the Children's Ministries of Crystal Lake United Methodist Church.

Unfortunately I never got the chance to meet Melody, however, I am friends with Eric & Mindee. I would like to send my love and sympathy to the two of you and your family. You all have been through so much! I knew she was your sis the second I saw her picture Eric! God Bless you all!

Mel Mel, I will miss you so very much. I swear that I will take great care of your beautiful children and let them know what a great and loving mother you were to them. Words cannot explain the relationship we had, simply put, you were the best sister anyone could ever wish to have. I love you Melody, Rest in peace.

Melody, you were more than a sister in law to me, you were my sister. we did everything together and at about the same time, get married, have kids, argue in the middle of publix when we were both in the middle of our pregnancies. You taught me soo much that I cant even thank you enough for what you have brought into my life. I still cant believe that God called you home so soon. I love and miss you so much.
