David P. Neuhaus

1958 - 2022

Dave Neuhaus, age 63, of Shepherd, passed away unexpectedly and peacefully at home on Saturday, January 22, 2022. Dave was born April 26, 1958 to Mary and William Neuhaus in Saginaw, MI. Dave graduated from Bridgeport High School. Following graduation, Dave began his career working at Pepsi Cola. He was known as MacGyver by many of his friends and co-workers for his ability to fix things with whatever he could find. In 1978, Dave married Mary (Barz) and they began the rest of their lives together in Shepherd. Dave was a very avid walleye fisherman, a devoted deer hunter who loved spending time with all of his family and friends outdoors as much as possible. Many hours were spent at the pond, camping and the Saginaw Bay, with their three grandchildren. Dave is survived by his son, Nick and grandchildren Chloe, Landen, and Ava of Shepherd; son, Neil and daughter-in-law Heather of West Branch, and daughter, Ashley and fiancé Brad of Seattle, Washington. His sisters, Ann Neuhaus, Carmel, IN; Joyce Dahlberg, Port Huron ; brothers, Bill Neuhaus (Barb), Caseville; Jim (Lanny) Neuhaus, Saginaw; brother-in-law's Joe Barz, St. Charles, Buzz Barz, Georgia; Jerry Barz, Saginaw, and sister- in- law Judy Barz, California, along with many nieces and nephews. Dave was preceded by his parents, his sister Mary Kay, brother Paul, and brother-in-law Larry Barz. There will be a visitation on Thursday, January 27 from 2-4 and 6 -8 p.m. at Berry Funeral Home with a scripture service at 1:30 p.m. with Deacon Todd Lovas officiating.
