Ashley Tanner Obituary

Ashley L. Tanner

Ashley L. Tanner, age 27, of Omro was welcomed into Gods Kingdom on Saturday, August 4, 2012, by her older brother, Jason and sister, Lindsey; Grandma and Grandpa Gordon ad Betty Tritt, Willis and Helen Tanner; Uncles, Donny, Richard, Mike and Gary Tanner, Bill Wuske; Aunts, Marlene and Jean Tanner and Cousins, Dawn and Dave. Ashley was born August 12, 1984 in Green Bay, WI, the daughter of Charles and Barbara (Tritt) Tanner.

Ashley liked listening to music and watching TV. Her favorite songs were by the Beach Boys. She liked the Sunday afternoon trips to Leon's for ice cream and yearly vacations with her family to Birchwood, and going to watch Tom play baseball. Ashley attended school in Oshkosh and was lucky to have special people help her; Dotti, Norma, Barb, Sharon and Tammy. She met more special people when health issues prevented her from doing some favorite things. Her friends who helped her were, Beth, Joyce, Linda, Julie and Tracy.

Ashley taught us to always accept people for who they are and not try to change them. Always be positive and celebrate even the smallest things accomplished.

Ashley is loved and will be missed by her parents, Charles and Barbara Tanner; brother, Thomas Tanner; nephews and niece, Austin, Brennan and Aubrie Tanner; God parents, Mary Wuske and Richard Kettlewell; Aunts and Uncles, Richard and Donna Tritt, Phillip and Peggy Tritt, Mark Tritt, Edward Tanner (Carol), Mary Wuske (Jim), Sandy and Richard Kettlewell, Yvonne Tanner and Darlene Tanner; Cousins, Steve, Melissa, Cassie, Nickie, Michael, Steve, Dave, Michelle, Chris, Pauline, Tammy, Cindy, Pat, Dale, DeAnn, Dan, Deb, Bill, Val, Kay, Pam, Mark, Julie and Todd.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, August 7, 2012, at the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and then again on Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at Grace Lutheran Church, 720 Jackson St., from 9:00 a.m. until 10:15 a.m. The funeral service will follow at church at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Richard Bartholomew officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.

A special thank you to the Doctors and Nurses who helped her along the way. Especially, Dr. Foley and Robin, Dr. Catania, Heidi, Jaime, Esther and Dr. Charocheck and Karen for their compassion Thank you Pastor "B" for your visits and encouraging words and for always putting Ashley's needs first.

Heavens Very Special Child

A meeting was held quite far from earth!

It's time again for another birth.

Said the angels to the Lord above

"This special child" will need much love.

Her progress may be very slow.

Accomplishments she may not show.

And she will require extra care.

From the folks she meets down there.

She may not run or laugh or play.

Her thoughts may seem quite far away.

In many ways she won't adapt.

And she'll be known as handicapped.

So let's be careful where she's sent.

We want her life to be content.

Please Lord, find the parents who

Will do a special job for you.

They will not realize right away

The leading role they're asked to play.

But with this child sent from above.

Comes stronger faith and richer love.

And soon they'll know the privilege given

In caring for their gift from heaven.

Their precious charge so meek and mild.

Is "Heavens very special Child."

My prayers are with your family during this very sad time. Ashley was such a special person and I was happy for all the time that we spent together during her young schooling years. No matter what her limitations were, her delightful personality always came through to let you know what she was thinking about. Rest in peace, dear Ashley, may God's angels and loved ones surround you in Heaven.

Barb and Chuck,
We are so sorry for your loss. We rejoice for the reunion our loved one has with God, but our heart remains heavy with the emptiness. We were honored to see your daughter enjoyed her Sunday visits at Leons Frozen Custard. It has been a joy to serve your family. May God ease your burden of sadness. You are in our prayers.

Dear Barb and Chuck,
What a beautiful tribute to Ashley who brought so much love and pure understanding not only into your lives but to all who shared time with her. God truly does personally choose extraordinary people to love and honor the children who need special care.

Barb, she could not have been given a more devoted, loving and dedicated mother. And, Charlie, you were the sometimes eccentric and quirky dad that brought the humor and lightness that Ashley needed in her life. May you be comforted knowing Ashley has been released of her physical restraints in this life and is now free to be all of who she is with the loving family and friends who welcomed her home.
With all our love,

Dear Chuck and Barb,
First of all I am very sorry for your loss of Ashley, second I am very sorry I can't make it to the funeral due to the fair. Third, please always remember that your very special daughter had very SPECIAL parents. God gives those children to very special people who will love them and that IS what you did and she knows that along with Jason and Lindsey. My prayers are with you and remember you will be joined with them again someday to their smiles and arms wide open waiting to give you hugs again.
