Charles Sagi Obituary

In loving memory of Charles Joseph Sagi. Charles passed away at his home in Rochester on May 13, 2021. He was born in Phillipsburg, New Jersey, but made his home in Rochester, Michigan for 53 years. Charles is survived by his wife of 63 years, Susanna Weisel Sagi; sister, Shirley Sagi Jackson; daughters Leslie Sagi Preslar and Carolyn Sagi; son-in-law Martin Preslar; grandchildren Brendan and Erin Preslar; and many friends and colleagues. Charles is preceded in death by parents Margaret and Joseph Sagi. Charles graduated with a Ph.D. from Stanford in Mechanical Engineering in 1965. He worked as an engineer at General Motors in research and design. During his tenure, he had the pleasure of knowing a team of exceptionally skilled and devoted colleagues, whom he regarded as dear friends. Charles loved fishing, cooking, and time with family. He was an especially devoted grandfather. Memorial donations may be given to Karmanos Cancer Institute.
