Katherine Louise Danielson

Danielson, Katherine Louise of Waterford; January 2, 2022; age 98; While spending her summers as a "Rosie-the-Riveter" at the C.G. Conn band instrument factory in her Elkhart, IN, hometown, Katherine Louise (Knight) Danielson earned a music degree with an emphasis on piano and soprano solos at Eureka College, IL. After teaching high school in Iowa, "Kay" relocated to Pontiac, MI, where she taught mostly elementary music for more than 20 years. She also served as the choir director of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church for more than 25 years and she married the head usher, Eugene Danielson. An avid reader, Kay also loved to make pasties, can chili sauce and raspberry jam, and host an annual "Twelfth Night" Christmas party. Kay was preceded in death by her husband, "Gene;" her sisters Helen, Ruth, Eleanor and Margaret, and her brother Paul. She is survived by her son Chris (Lynne) and grandson Travis; her daughter Susan (Terry); her daughter Heidi (Dan) and grandson Brian; and numerous nieces and nephews. Kay passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, at the age of 98. Her lovely smile and kind manner will be remembered by all who knew her. Visitation and a Service will be held at the Riverside Chapel Simpson-Modetz Funeral Home, 5630 Pontiac Lake Road, Waterford, on Wednesday, January 12, 2022, from 3 pm to 6 pm.
