William Copeland Obituary

William (Bill) Neal Copeland
May 21, 1941 - December 12, 2021
Olympia, Washington - Our beloved Bill passed away on Dec 12, 2021 from brain cancer, with our family at his side. He was born in Piedmont, CA, May 21, 1941 to Ralph and Dorothy Copeland. His parents and sister Susan preceded him in passing. He is survived by his wife for nearly 39 years, Joan Copeland, his son Tobin Copeland-Turner, our daughter Tauschia Copeland, and two step sons and grandson, Randy, Keven and Logan Dunn.
Bill was a graduate of Princeton University in Political Science, University of OR, Masters in Botany, and University of PA, Masters in Physical Therapy. He worked with the Nature Conservancy in research and land conservation, making the many land reserves in OR especially along the coast, then retired after over 30 years as a Physical Therapist. He served US Peace Corp in Peru. Bill loved our family, his friends and his work so much. He worked on global warming initiatives and loved opera and classical music, possessing an amazing tenor voice himself. A celebration of his life will be announced at a later date.
Donations can be sent to his wife Joan at their home 5809 Donegal CT SE, Lacey, WA 98503 and or directly to his favorite Charities; OR Nature Conservancy and the US Peace Corp. He will be tremendously missed by our family and friends.
