Deborah "Debbie" Pinon

Deborah "Debbie" Pinon passed away with her family at her side on April 23, at the age of 59 after battling breast cancer.

Born on Oct. 19, 1958 she was the daughter of Arnold Read Lewis and Winnifred "Nadine" Lewis of Vacaville. Debbie has been a resident of Vacaville since 1958. In 1976, she graduated from Vacaville High School and attended Solano Community College. As a young lady she enjoyed taking trips with her family in their motorhome. Debbie was a hardworking and kind person, she worked for the Solano County Office of Education as a Paraeducator and enjoyed working with special needs children in her class. As a Paraeducator for the Solano County Office of Education, she worked at various locations such as Will C. Wood High School, Fairmont Elementary School, Sierra Vista, Elm, and Larsen location. Her students, staff and other students often called her "Ms. Debbie" and she was often called that by students that recognized her outside of the school. Many staff and students recall her kindness and hard work to her job. After working for the county for 33 years, she retired early to take care of her elderly mother, Winifred Lewis, and to take care of her daughter, Jestine Pinon. She enjoyed taking her daughters to 4-H and Girl Scout events, and she loved to scrapbook. She was a local 4-H leader where she taught dog training and scrapbooking.

She is survived by her daughter, Jestine Pinon; brother, Robert (Debbie) Lewis; nieces, Emilee and Amiee. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arnold Lewis and Winnifred Nadine Lewis.

A celebration of life will take place at Pietro's #2 at 1 p.m., Saturday, June 3. Family and friends are encouraged to attend this benefit in honor of this lovely lady. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the Best Buddies organization in memory of Deborah Pinon.
