Merle Fink Obituary
The youngest son of Irene Eva (Carson) and Carl Philip Fink, Merle was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Clyde Harlin Fink and Cletus Carson Fink, a sister D. Elaine Fink Rutz, and a half-dozen prized bird dogs.
Merle graduated from Central Missouri State College in Warrensburg, MO, and taught at Gladden Elementary in Belton, MO, his entire career.
Merle leaves behind two daughters - Elisa Rochford (husband Paul) and Ingred Sidie (husband Jay), two granddaughters - Eva Belle and Lola Ray, a brother-in-law Warren Rutz, four nieces, a nephew, and a bird dog named Rusty.
Merle takes with him his kind eyes, mischievous smile, a passion for wildlife and gambling, and his famous recipe for fried crappie.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Merle's name to the Missouri Bird Conservation Foundation - 618 Brighton Ct., Rolla, MO, 65401. (573) 364-0020.
A celebration of Merle's life will take place on April 23, 2016, at the Fink Farm in Rolla, MO. For details, please contact [email protected]. Condolences may be shared with the family at www.CremationCenterKC.com.

Merle and I had a great many fishing trips over the past 15 years. He was a great friend and companion during this time. He always had a guaranteed seat in the back of my boat. Often times, when he became even more quiet than usual I would turn around to find his head down and asleep about to fall out of the boat.
I always enjoyed stories of his youth being raised on the farm and his quail hunting adventures.
I just found out about his passing today, our condolences to the family.

I miss that fried crappie. Merle was a delightful fishing companion and his luck was contagious. I caught eleven fish on the same minnow while fishing with him. A wise and gracious man. I will remember him fondly.

We were so sad of Merle's passing. The picture and obituary is the Merle we loved and remember. Many wonderful memories were shared and I treasured his friendship.

It would be difficult to find anyone who enjoyed life more than Merle. His sense of humor, zest for life, and love for family touched and inspired many. Please accept my condolences for your loss.
