Gary Oxford Obituary
Born Feb. 8, 1946, in Cave In Rock, (Hardin County), he was the son of Bernard Roger and Gladys Geraldine (Smith) Oxford. On Nov. 16, 1963, he married Sherell J. (Davis) and she survives.
Mr. Oxford owned and operated GSG Industries in Robinson, and was formerly Plant Manager for Thordarson Meisner Incorporated for 21 years.
Gary was a life member of the Loyal Order of the Moose 1369, where he rose to the level of Fellowship Degree by having advanced through the degrees. He also belonged to the Benevolent and Protective Order of ELKS, Lodge 1188; Fraternal Order of Eagles Palestine Aerie 3329; VFW Sons of the VFW 4549, Robinson.
Survivors include his high school sweetheart and wife, Mrs. Sherell J. Oxford, Robinson; a son and daughter-in-law, Gary R. Oxford Jr. and wife, Janelle Oxford, of Robinson; two grandchildren, Alexandra O. Oxford, St. Louis College of Pharmacy, and Grant W. Oxford of Robinson; a brother, Roger L. Oxford of Cave In Rock; sister, Mrs. Brenda I. Wiseman of Metropolis; sister-in-law, Sherry Pennell of Bladenboro, N.C.; brother-in-law, and spouse, Danny and Donna Davis of Pickerington, Ohio; along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceding him in death were his parents; brother-in-law, Robert Wiseman; a sister, Geraldine Yackle and a brother, John Oxford.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 5, in Pulliam Funeral Home in Robinson, with the Rev. Tiffany Black officiating. Friends may gather from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Pulliam Funeral Home. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, April 5, in Cave Hill Cemetery in Cave In Rock, with Pastor Larry Lewis officiating.
Memorials may be made to Cave Hill Cemetery Maintenance Fund or Good Samaritan Hospice, Vincennes, Ind., with envelopes available at the funeral home.
