Raymond Parks Obituary

MARION - Raymond "Ray" Parks Jr., 96, of Noblesville, Ind., formerly of Marion, passed away peacefully at 1:05 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2014, in Prairie Lakes Health Campus of Noblesville, Ind.

He was born Thursday, Nov. 1, 1917, in Williamson County, the son of Raymond and Cora (Fry) Parks.

Ray attended school in Marion, and was a graduate of Marion High School.

He was united in marriage to Hallie R. Mofield on Saturday, Nov. 12, 1938, in St. Louis, and together shared 66 years of marriage until her death Nov. 11, 2004, just one day before their anniversary.

Early in his working career he worked for Goodyear Tire Company and later for Horton Sales Company of Cape Girardeau, as their regional salesman in Southern Illinois and parts of Kentucky and Missouri of automotive parts and tire sales until retiring in 1982.

For many years he was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church of Marion. He also was a lifetime member of the Fellowship Masonic Lodge 89 AF and AM of Marion.

Ray was extremely proud of his grandchildren, Heather and Chad, and the education they pursued. He was a man of honesty, never wa-vering integrity and humility. He loved to make quiet little quips, much to the enjoyment of his family. He could always be found cleaning and polishing his car or doing something outside. The many memories that have been created will now be cherished by those he leaves behind.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Raylene and Jerry Rolinski of Carmel, Ind.; granddaughter, Heather Rolinski of Noblesville, Ind.; grandson, Chad Rolinski and his wife, Michelle of Charlotte, N.C.; other extended family and many good friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.

Arrangements for Raymond "Ray" Parks, Jr. have been entrusted to Wilson-McReynolds Funeral Home at 900 N. Court St., in Marion.

Visitation for family and friends will be from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, at the funeral home. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Satur-day at the funeral home, with the Rev. Rick Pierce presiding. Services will begin with Masonic Rites being accorded by Fellowship Masonic Lodge 89 AF and AM of Marion. Interment will follow next to his wife in Rose Hill Cemetery of Marion.

For those who prefer, memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home or may be mailed in care of Wilson-McReynolds Funeral Home, P.O. Box 370, Marion, IL 62959.

I was saddened with the news that Ray passed. I always enjoyed working in their home. I was always treated like an extended family member. I share in the sorrow, and extend my prayers to the family. I would like to attend the funeral, however I was just released from the hospital. I have a very limited immune system, I can not be in public. I hope you understand.
