Robert Lindsey Obituary

MURPHYSBORO - Robert E. Lindsey, 73, died Thursday, Nov. 14, 2013, at his home.

He was born Aug. 7, 1940, to William and Margaret (Schemonia) Lindsey in Chester.

Robert married Helen Lehr on Nov. 17, 1979.

He worked for Bost Trucking for 31 years. He also worked as maintenance for First Bank and Trust in Murphysboro. He owned and oper-ated Bob Lindsey Mowing and Garden Tilling. He loved NASCAR, with Rusty Wallace as one his favorite drivers. He loved to play Rummy.

He is survived by his loving wife, Helen of Murphysboro; a son, Tom (Autum) Hancock of Murphysboro; two daughters, Deborah Kay (Carl) Lewis of Baldwin, and Darla (Robert) Burnum of Scott City, Mo.; five grandsons, Kenny Parnell, Robbie Parnell, Aaron Hancock, Nathan Hancock and Richard (Mandy) Ford; three granddaughters, Jessica Warren, Misty Flowers and Jackie Ford; other relatives and many friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Margaret Lindsey; two brothers, Jack Lindsey and Bill Lindsey; a sister, Sis Lindsey and a granddaughter, Rebecca Jean Parnell.

Services for Robert E. Lindsey will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19, in Crain Pleasant Grove-Murdale Funeral Home, with the Revs. John Pitchford and Jim Easton officiating. Entombment will be in Pleasant Grove Memorial Park Mausoleum with Milton Bost officiating. Visi-tation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 18, at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Pate Chapel Building Fund and will be accepted at the funeral home.
