Santa Fe - Phyllis Sue Orebaugh Haney O'Dell
Phyllis Sue Orebaugh Haney O'Dell passed away on December 30, 2020 at Bee Hive Home Santa Fe due to complications from a broken hip. Sue was born February 25, 1931 to Floren J and Ruth E (Lang) Orebaugh. She graduated from Selma High School in 1949 and attended Purdue University for one year.
In October 1954 Sue married Robert A. Haney. After Bob passed away in 1958, Sue was a cook at Selma Elementary School. She later returned to work at I&M Electric Company until her retirement in 1993. In August 1974 Sue married Carl J O'Dell. They enjoyed their families and friends, playing golf, woodworking and spending winters in Florida. In 2011 Sue moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico and then to Santa Fe.
Sue was a 70 year member of the Parker City and Farmland chapters of the Order of Eastern Star. She was a member of the Mary Martha Club and was a Brownie Troop Leader.
Sue is survived by her children: Angela Haney of Los Lunas, NM; Jane (Jay) Winter of Santa Fe, NM and Tom (Jaimi) Haney of San Diego, CA. She leaves her grandchildren: Grant (Alison) Winter of Sacramento, CA; Lauren (Jeff) Hemphill of Rio Rancho, NM; Stephanie (Molly) Winter of Santa Fe and step-grandchildren: Taryn (Elliott) LeGros and Landon Lomas of San Diego.
Sue's great grandchildren are: Jacob, Lucas and Jonathon Hemphill, Paul and Michael Winter and Havea LeGros. Sue is survived by two brothers-in-law: Phil Haney of Selma and Hal (Rhoda) Haney of Albany. She is also survived by several cousins and many nieces and nephews.
Sue was proceeded in death by her parents, her beloved grandmother, Alberta (Holt) Lang, her husbands, Bob Haney and Carl O'Dell and her brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Roseva Orebaugh. Also preceding her in death were several Haney brothers and sisters-in-law and two nephews: Ron Orebaugh and Rob Haney.
Berardinelli of Santa Fe is handling the arrangements. A graveside service at Mt. Tabor Cemetery will be planned for the summer.
