Arlene McNeil COLUMBIA - Arlene McNeil, 85, peacefully passed away on Saturday, April 29, 2017, in Providence Hospital in Columbia. A memorial service will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, May 6, 2017, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 120 Warner Drive, Columbia, SC, with Brother Crawford Williams officiating. Arlene, eldest daughter of Clarence O. McNeil and Equetha Shaird McNeil, graduated from Marion High School in Marion, SC, and continued her spiritual education via Bible study through Jehovah's Witness work. She was employed for decades at Wentworth Industries in Florence before retiring to provide care for her identical twin and co-worker, Starlene, and their mother. Faithfully serving as one of Jehovah's Witnesses, Arlene loved Jehovah, family, and her spiritual brothers and sisters. She fully supported the preaching work and theocratic projects in a plethora of ways including continuing to open the family home as a book study site and then as a field service site for preaching work for many years. Arlene lovingly cared for many nieces and nephews who, along with other family members and friends, adored her and her energetic, upbeat nature and sparkling humor. They also thoroughly enjoyed the scrumptious meals she created and the loveliness she wrought with her marvelous sewing skill. Arlene leaves to cherish her precious memory, a son, A. Wayne McNeil (Ann-Marie), sisters Delaware M. Gerald and Nevada M. Johnson, brothers Clarence O. McNeil and Obadiah Z. McNeil (Cheryl), and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
