Arthur Ball Obituary

NEW ZION — Arthur Paul Ball, age 74, died Tuesday, January 12, 2010, in a nursing facility in Summerton. Funeral service will be noon Saturday, January 16, 2010, at Southern Methodist Church of Turbeville, with burial in the church cemetery, directed by Floyd Funeral Home, Inc. of Olanta. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service.
 
Born in Stockbridge GA, he was a son of the late Arthur Preston Ball and Allie Corley Ball. He was an entrepreneur, having been in the restaurant business, trucking industry, and the construction of homes. He attended Turbeville Southern Methodist Church, and was a veteran of the United States Army.
 
He is predeceased by a brother, Hiram Preston Ball.
 
He is survived by his wife, Mary Joan Gosnell Ball of New Zion, one daughter; Cindi (David) Wallace of New Zion, three sons, Randy (Judy) Ball of Cameron, SC, Ricky (Denise) Ball of Middleburg, FL, Tamier Ball of Orangeburg, SC, two sisters, Betty Van-Derlaan and Eula Beavers, and one brother, Larry Ball, nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
 
Mr. Art was very much loved, and will be very missed by his family.
 
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Alzheimer’s Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011.
