Daniel Stocker Obituary
February 26, 1946 - April 3, 2021
Columbia, South Carolina - Daniel Carl Stocker Sr. of Columbia, SC passed away on Saturday, April 3, 2021 at the age of 75 after a long illness.
Danny was born in Columbia, SC on February 26, 1946 to Elmore Carl Stocker Jr. and Mary Thames Stocker. He attended Brookland-Cayce High School before joining the United States Navy in 1966. Having learned lithography in the Navy, he returned home from his service and pursued his career with State Printing Company. After migrating to sales and seeking new opportunities, he enjoyed a long and successful career in the roofing and roofing supply industry. He was a devoted husband and loving father who enjoyed art, music, dancing and spending time with his family.
Danny is survived by his mother; wife of 41 years, Sandra C. Stocker, children; Daniel Carl Stocker Jr., Jill Stocker Hammett, John W. Scuderi, Jill A. Scuderi, 9 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, brothers; E. Carl Stocker III., Phillip Stocker; sister, Libby Thomasson and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his father and son, Jeff F. Scuderi.
Danny's life will be celebrated at a memorial on Saturday, May 1st at 11am at Mount Olive Lutheran Church located at 1541 Lake Murray Blvd, Columbia, SC. The family will greet friends following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to United Service Organizations, Inc. (USO). The family would like to express our thanks for the wonderful care given by Lexington Community Hospice House.
