I worked for Dave Shamlin and R.L. O'Hara at the Florence Post Office from 1978 to 1983, at which time I moved back to my home state of GA. I don't think I have ever worked for a finer team. Since leaving Florence in 1983, I continued talking with Mr. Shamlin over the phone 2 or 3 times a year, every year. I never met a more honest and positive person. With him, the glass was always half full. We would talk on the phone and remember old times. I still have his number in my cell phone. I really don't want to delete it right now. I can still hear his voice over the phone. I wish I could call him. Goodbye Dave. I'll miss you.
