I also have fond memories of Ms. LaBorde, from Dentsville High School in the 60's. She was a "hoot", with a dry sense of humor. In some ways, she seemed like one of us (the kids). She understood us. I was scheduled to be in another english class, but I really wanted her, so I just went to her class. She started counting, and said she had more students than she was supposed to have. I knew that she knew I was the extra one, but she never made me leave. She was interested in who we were dating, and that we made good choices. She just cared about us. I haven't seen her in many years, but I will always cherish my memories of her.

Best God Mother of all time. Frances used to take me on road trips in her Mustang that I still tell people about. Frances and Mom are having a high ball somewhere.

Frances taught me at Dentsville High School in the 9th grade and again in the 12th grade. She and my brother, Bobby, attended Carolina together in the late 40's. She was a wonderful teacher and friend. It was because of she and Gloria Henderson that I taught for 34 years.

I had her for Senior English at Spring Valley the first year it was open(1970-71). She was the best at letting me ease out of class for all sorts of reasons.I recently visited her at LifeCare and spent 30 minutes reminiscing. She remembered several things that happened that year. She was one of my favorites! What a great Lady!

I am sorry to learn of Ms. LaBorde's passing. She was my English teacher back in the early 1960's at the then Dentsville High School. I recently had the pleasure of reuniting with Ms. LaBorde when she became a patient at the same nursing home as my older sister. I visited her at least weekly over the past four months and we exchanged memories of those high school years. I found her to still have a great sense of humor. She also retained detailed memories from so many years ago. I thank her for her instruction and I will miss her.

I remember Miss. LaBorde at Dentsville School, She was my Homeroom Teacher and English Teacher. She was dedicated to the teaching profession and could always find time for the student that was not as quick to learn as others. Rest in Peace Teacher! I owe you a lot.
