Jannie Rhoden

Jannie Lee Rhoden EASTOVER - Jannie Lee Rhoden was born July 27, 1929 in Eastover, SC to the late Hurley and Sallie Bell McCoy-Higgins. She passed away on September 9, 2016, at the age of 87. She was a faithful, lifelong member of Goodwill Baptist Church in Eastover. She was educated in the Richland County School District and attended Harbison Industrial School in Irmo, SC. She was known for her beautiful singing voice, creative writing and reciting poems. She worked in Eastover Sewing plant and retired from Stone Manufacturing after many years. She was predeceased by: her husband, James Rhoden; her daughter, Catherine Clay; a granddaughter, Felisa Flemming; and several siblings. Jannie is survived by: her great-grandson, Devyn Flemming; her sisters: Mary A. Rice, Alice Higgins and Daisy Higgins; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The homegoing service will be held Wednesday, September 14, 2016, 2:00 PM at Goodwill Baptist Church, 14081 Garners Ferry Road, Eastover, with burial the church cemetery.
