Robert Perry Obituary

Following a prolonged illness, Robert J. Perry passed away on December 16th 2023, surrounded by his family and friends. He leaves his wife Suzanne Duval, after 48 years of life together.

He is predeceased by his parents William and Mary (Otterson) Perry, and is survived by his brother Joseph Perry and wife Lyn of Waterloo, NY and sister Patricia Perry of Attleboro and her partner John Mancini.

Bob was a graduate of Attleboro High School, and continued his education obtaining several telecommunications certifications. He retired in 2016 as a project manager for Metropolitan Telephone in Walpole MA. He also worked at Balfour Company as a toolmaker and telephone technician, and there developed many treasured and lifelong friendships.

As a young man he worked at Ripley's Garage in Attleboro where he became an MG enthusiast, and later shared that love with his wife. He also enjoyed gardening and woodworking, and as with any endeavor he tried the results were always exceptional. Among those interests, his most satisfying skill was as a musician, he was a great bass player.

The family would like to send a special thanks to Pauline and Sarah, and all the wonderful friends who have helped during all these difficult times. Also, to Dr. Ken Bishop for his dedication to Bob's care, and to the Oncology Department at Sturdy Hospital for their enduring kindness.

Private funeral services are under the care of Duffy-Poule Funeral and Cremation Services, 20 Peck Street, Attleboro, MA.

My dear Sue, I am so very sorry to hear about Bob's passing. I just read it now in late January 2024. I was so delighted to make a connection with a "Mulligan cousin" back a few years ago through Ancestry DNA and it was so much fun to meet up with him at Morin's Diner and again at Bliss Bros. Dairy where we shared a love of their blueberry pancakes. I wish that I had known him longer and also in our younger years as we had many Attleboro connections in common as well as relatives. I remember being amazed when I first saw Bob that he had the same eyes and eyebrows as my dad, John E. Ricker, which must have been inherited from our common great grandfather, John F. Mulligan. May Bob rest in the sweetest peace and that you take comfort in your good memories and know that he no longer has to fight that terrible illness. I wish you well. Cousin Kathleen A. (Ricker) Provost
