Florence Merrick Kelly, 90, of Archbald, died Wednesday in the house she was born in and lived her entire life.
Born in Archbald, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Merrick and Florence Dean Merrick. Her loving husband of 63 years, Richard Kelly, passed away in July 2021. She was a member of Christ the King Parish. Florence was very active with Christ the King Church, especially its parish picnic. She loved making calls for donations for her basket stand. Florence loved spending time with her family and "The Club."
What made Florence the happiest was to be called Grammy by her two grandsons who she referred to as "my boys." They were the lights of her life.
Florence's family would like to extend a special thank you to her loving caregivers. They would also like to convey their sincere gratitude to all the nurses and staff of Hospice of the Sacred Heart for their kindness and compassion during a difficult time.
Florence is survived by her only child, daughter Mary Houser and husband, Douglas, Chantilly, Va.; grandsons, Jonathan (Ashley) Richmond, Va., and Matthew, Chantilly, Va. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Mary, Elizabeth and Theresa, and brothers, Thomas and Joseph.
