Joseph Budnovitch

Joseph Budnovitch, 74, of Spring Brook Twp., died Saturday at Regional Hospital of Scranton. His wife, the former Kathleen Morse, died Jan. 31, 2010.

Born in Olyphant, son of the late John and Mary Havrilchak Budnovitch, he was a graduate of Olyphant High School and served in the Navy. He retired as an electronics mechanic leader at Tobyhanna Army Depot, radar division. He was a member of SS. Cyril and Methodius Ukrainian Catholic Church, Olyphant, and VFW Post 5207, Daleville.

He was a very caring and loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. We have peace in our hearts knowing his wonderful legacy lives on in each of us.

Surviving are his children, Joseph Jr. and wife, Tamara, Lake Ariel; Timothy and wife, Michelle, Gouldsboro; Patricia Gemberling and husband, James, Lake Silkworth; Kelly Gehrke and husband, Randy, Shermansdale; and Mary Teeple and husband, John, Spring Brook Twp.; nine grandchildren; a great-grandchild; many nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by four brothers, George, Thomas, John and Eugene.

The funeral will be Thursday at 9:30 a.m. from the Michael Wargo Jr. Funeral Home, 812 E. Scott St., Olyphant, with Divine Liturgy at 10 in SS. Cyril and Methodius Church, to be celebrated by the Rev. Nestor Iwasiw, pastor.

Friends may call Wednesday, 5 to 8 p.m.; parastas service will be at 6.
