Penny Jo Sanauskas

1964 - 2022

Penny Jo Sanauskas, 58, of Nicholson, Pa., passed away Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2022, after battling pancreatic cancer.

Born June 27, 1964, in Scranton, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Arneta Brainard Sanauskas. Penny was a 1982 graduate of Mountain View High School and lived most of her adult life in Oklahoma with her significant other, William Kenschaft, who preceded her in death on June 15, 2022.

Penny enjoyed the sunsets in Oklahoma, watching the birds at the feeder, her horses and shelties, playing bingo and spending time with her family. She thoroughly enjoyed the beauty of nature.

Penny's sisters were her best friends who cared for her through this battle. She will be greatly missed by her family.

She is survived by one daughter, Rebecca Ramirez and husband, Dakota, of Custer, Mich.; four sisters, Ann Corbin and husband, John, of Hop Bottom, Pa.; Brenda Van Vleck, of Nicholson, Pa.; Shelley Kilmer and companion, Jim Grecco, of Clifford, Pa.; and Dale Sanauskas and companion, Stephanie Hazelton, of Shephardstown, W.Va.; three brothers, Gary Sanauskas and wife, Phyllis, of Clifford, Pa.; Terry Sanauskas, of Nicholson, Pa.; and Brian Sanauskas, of Kingsley, Pa.; three grandchildren, Alex, Miguel and Serenity; and several nieces and nephews.

A viewing will be held Thursday, Aug. 4, from 4 to 6 p.m. with a funeral service following at 6 p.m. from the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 18 Airport Road, Clifford, celebrated by the Rev. Will Hagenbuch. Interment will follow at the Willow View Cemetery, Clifford.
