Linda Simpson Rivers

1965 - 2018

BURLINGTON – Linda Simpson Rivers, 53, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at the Hospice Home surrounded by her family.

She was a native of Alamance County and the wife of 26 years to Kenneth Avery Rivers who survives.

Linda was employed with Engineered Controls International. She was a 1983 graduate of Western Alamance High School and a 1997 graduate of ACC.

Linda was a member of Glen Hope Baptist Church for the past 24 years and a member of the Jo Warren Emmanuel Sunday School Class. Linda loved her Lord and served him in many ways at her church by sharing God's love especially with children as an Awana Leader. She was a loving and devoted wife and daughter.

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth A. Rivers of the home; father, Carl F. Simpson of Burlington and her brothers, Ronald and Donald both of Burlington. She was preceded in death by her mother, Ruby Pickrell Simpson in 2014.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Hospice of Alamance-Caswell for their kind and compassionate care for Linda during her illness.

A service to celebrate her life will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, August 11, 2018 at Glen Hope Baptist Church by Rev. Lewis Baber and assisted by Rev. Bob Stephenson. The burial will follow at Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 - 8 p.m. on Friday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the residence.
