Samuel Douglas Barnwell Obituary

PROSPECT HILL - Samuel Douglas Barnwell, 61, of 674 Ridgeville Rd., Prospect Hill, died Thursday, July 2, 2015. Born in Alamance County, Mr. Barnwell was the son of the late Roger Hassell Barnwell. Mr. Barnwell retired from AKG in Mebane and was of the Baptist faith. He loved woodworking and NASCAR.
Mr. Barnwell is survived by his mother, Blanch Blalock Barnwell; his brother, Barry Wayne Barnwell and wife Peggy, of Prospect Hill; his sister, Mary Jacqueline Barnwell, of Graham; two nieces, Tina Rice and Shelby Brown; one nephew, Scotty Barnwell; and one great-nephew.
Graveside services will be held 4 pm, Sunday, July 5, 2015, at Cooper Cemetery. Visitation will be held
2-3pm, Sunday at the Brooks & White Funeral Home and at other times at the home.
Pallbearers will be Scotty Barnwell, David Brown, Kermit Oakes, Mack McIntyre, Dwight Oakley, and Ronnie Lunsford.
Memorials may be made to Prospect Hill Volunteer Fire Deparment, c/o Helen Lunsford, 1378 Ridgeville Rd., Prospect Hill, NC 27314.
