Seth Christy Obituary
SNOW CAMP - Seth Gordon Christy, 19, of 8501 Holman Mill Road, Snow Camp, died February 28, 2009 at his residence.
Seth loved God, his family and his friends. He had a heart for children and volunteered at the Mosaic Center, the church nursery, and as assistant coach for a youth soccer team. Seth played soccer from the age of four and formed a lasting friendship with his teammates and coaches. Everyone that met him remembers his big smile and friendly nature. Seth was a 2008 graduate of Southern Alamance High School.
Survivors include his parents, Rick and Barbara Christy, of the home; a brother, Carl Christy of Charlotte, N.C.; sister, Erin Christy, of the home; grandparents, Jerry and Celeste Christy, of Mebane, N.C.; grandmother, Martha Ragland, of Knoxville, Tenn.; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Fowler Ragland; grandmother, Joyce Christy.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 4 at Saxapahaw United Methodist Church in Saxapahaw, N.C. by the Rev. David Harriss and the Rev. Marc Rickabaugh.
Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 3 at McClure Funeral Home in Graham, N.C. and, at other times, at the residence.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Celebration Singers, 408 West Trade Street, Burlington, N.C. 27217, or Mosaic Center, 1728 S. Main Street, Graham, N.C. 27253, or any charity of your choice.

To the Christy Family: I am Rev. Edgar De Jesus, the pastor of Saxapahaw UMC from 2000-2003. Our family learned about the sad news of Seth's death last Saturday. Our deepest sympathy to all of you in this time of loss and grief. I remembered Seth with the UMYF and serving as acolyte. When we had an Open House at the parsonage at Saxapahaw, he saw a cooked fish with a head in it and he said, "Pastor, is that a piranha?" Judy and I will hold y'all in our prayers. And may you find comfort from the love and hope that comes from our Risen Savior.

Dear Christy family,
I am so sorry for your loss, Seth was something else. Anytime i was around him he kept me, along with everyone else laughing. I saw Seth friday, and up until the time i left, he was just cracking jokes and making everyone laugh, as usual.I know he will be greatly missed. Dear Christy Family, Both of my daughters knew Seth and they both liked him. I worked at First Step for a little while and I helped look after the kids and one of those kids was Seth. I first met Seth when we played youth soccer together. He always kept the team laughing and interested. Im praying for him and his family and I know that he is in a better place where he can watch over all of us. God works in ways that we cant comprehend. we have all be wondering for the past few days how he could take such a great person like Seth from us so early in his life..but the truth is God had a plan for him, a plan that could not be carried out here but in heaven.
