Funeral services for Jaelei Marie Cubbit will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at the First Baptist Church, 920 Highway 167, Dry Prong with Reverend Donald E. Privett, Reverend Lloyd Whitman, and Reverend Calvin Cantrell officiating. Committal service will follow in the Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery, 8789 Highway 8, Colfax under the guidance of White Oaks Funeral Home, Alexandria.

Jaelei, 13, of Dry Prong, entered eternal rest on Thursday, January 8, 2015 in the Arkansas Children's Hospital of Little Rock, Arkansas. She was born March 16, 2001 in Alexandria. Jaelei was an 8th grader that attended Grant Junior High School. She loved singing in the choir and wanted to show her love to animals by becoming a veterinarian. She was a loving daughter, sister, granddaughter, cousin, niece, and friend.

She is preceded in death by her father, Jerry Wayne Cubbit, Jr.

Those left behind to cherish her memories are: her loving paternal grandmother and caregiver, Thelma Elaine Goynes of Dry Prong; brother, Tyler Marshall of Marksville; two sisters, Eden Breille Cubbit of Dry Prong and Brina Noella Ortego of Pineville; her mother, Sharon Marie Ortego of Pineville; and a host of family and friends.

Pallbearers to serve will be Jonathan Cubbit, Albert Goynes, Jr., Jonathan Montgomery, Charles Clark, Eric Goynes, Josh Newcomb, Zack Brister, and Wesley Goodger.

Visitation will begin Tuesday, January 13, 2015 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m., then on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 from 9 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m. in the church.
