Patricia Sue Grace passed away April 7, 2023 in Grass Valley, CA. Graveside Services will be held 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 13, 2023 at Sierra Memorial Lawn Cemetery, 459 Hollow Way, Nevada City.
Pat was born January 5, 1940 in Denver, CO to William and Margaret (Mitchell) Whitfield. She graduated from Washington High School in Los Angeles in 1958 and was most proud of attending every high school reunion that was held. She married the love of her life Jack T. Grace on March 29, 1964 in Carson, CA. She was a resident of Nevada County for over 35 years.
Pat was a member of the Navy Wife's Fleet Reserve. She loved caring for animals especially dogs and cats. She was a people person. She was famous for her lengthy newsletters in her yearly Christmas cards.
She is survived by her nephews Steven and David Callen. She's preceded in death by her husband Jack Grace in 1994 and her parents.
Memorial contributions may be made to Sammie's Friends, Best Friend's Animal Clinic, or your favorite animal charity.
Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper & Weaver Mortuary.

Sure will miss our twice a month luncheons. Always tried to get a seat near you so we could hear your great stories about growing up in southern California, meeting and marrying Jack, moving up here to Nevada County where we met you. Perhaps our favorite stories were about the plethora of critters who entertained you daily on your porch. Sure will miss your corny jokes....boy you made us laugh!
Well, in due time we´ll see each other again at a celestial luncheon. You´ll be sorely missed by many people, Pat. Love and hugs to you dear friend.

Patty was my first pen pal back in the late 60"s when I was in elementary school. We kept in contact for a while and then it was just Christmas cards. I haven't seen her since 2003 when I took my mom, Jean Kurtz, her cousin, to see her in her lovely home. She was so enthralled by all the wildlife there and of of course her cats. I will remember her with fond memories and miss our yearly correspondence. Kathy Sewolt, cousin
