Valentina (Cairo) Luzzi

Valentina (Cairo) Luzzi, 69, beloved wife of Luigi Luzzi, of Pauline St., Westerly, passed away at The Westerly Hospital surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2015.
Born in Acri, Italy she was a daughter of the late Salvatore and Annunziata Cairo.
Valentina worked as a machine operator at Darlington Fabrics for years and was a faithful communicant of Immaculate Conception Church. She enjoyed gardening and was known for being an amazing cook, which was her true passion.
In addition to her husband, she leaves five children, Sara Gabriele and her husband, David, Joseph Luzzi and his wife, Maurizia, Mario Luzzi and his wife, Theresa, Orlando Luzzi and Daniel Luzzi, all of Westerly. She will also be dearly missed by her eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; three siblings, Eleana Baldo of N.Y., and Angelina Cairo and Maria Cairo, both of Italy; and several nieces and nephews. Valentina was predeceased by her brother, Vincenzo Cairo.
Visiting hours will be held today, Friday, from 4-7 p.m. at Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., Westerly. Relatives and friends are also invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church, 111 High St., Westerly on Saturday at 10 a.m. There is no procession from the funeral home to the church.
