Heather Cope
Heather Cope passed away on July 20th, 2022 at her home in Temecula, CA, just 10 days prior to her 42nd birthday. Heather was a beloved wife, mother, sister, daughter, aunt, and friend, and she will be dearly missed.
Heather was born to Ron and Martha Baroni on July 30th, 1980 at Mad River Hospital in Arcata, CA. She was the second of three children and she grew up in a modest home in Mckinleyville, CA with her brother Nate and her sister Mia. Heather had a happy childhood and she had many fond memories of her early years. She loved bike rides and beach trips, and hanging out with friends and family.
Heather sampled everything Mckinleyville had to offer in the 1980's and 90's. She attended Morris Elementary School, Mckinleyville Middle School, and then Mckinleyville High School where she excelled academically and was a natural athlete. Heather loved to reminisce with friends about the fun times she had during these years.
When Heather was 15 years old and a sophomore in high school she met the love of her life, Dan Cope. Heather and Dan spent almost 30 years together and raised an amazing family along the way. When Heather was just 20 years old she gave birth to their first child, a daughter, Kiley. About a year later their oldest son Devin was born, and then eight years later Heather gave birth to their youngest child Daren. Heather loved her family more than anything and was a caring and dedicated wife and mother.
Heather and Dan traveled across the western US, living in several different cities as Dan pursued his successful career in the Marine Corps. They finally settled in Temecula where they lived happily for over a decade. Heather was happy and proud of her family's dedication to the Armed Forces and was a proud Marine wife for many years.
As their family grew and the kids got older Heather decided to continue her education first receiving her bachelor's degree in psychology, and then later her master's degree in educational counseling. Heather was also an accomplished photographer who routinely captured the beauty of her surrounding area and beyond.
Heather is survived by her husband Dan and their three children Kiley, Devin, and Daren, her siblings Nate and Mia, her parents Ron and Martha, and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and in-laws.
Heather was preceded in death by her grandparents Bill and Dorothy, Hazel and Roger, and her uncle Mark.
A celebration of life was held in Heather's hometown of Mckinleyville, and her family is grateful for the tremendous outpouring of support from everyone who knew her. Heather was a beautiful person, inside and out. She made the world a better place and she will be loved forever by her family and friends.
