RICHARD BURTON Obituary

BURTON, Richard Matthew, 78, of Richmond, died August 24, 2013. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard W. Burton and Eva Mae Burton; sister, Hazel Massey. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn J. Burton; children, Richard E. Burton (Teresa), Victoria Poarch (Coleman), Samuel W. Burton (Brenda) and Matthew F. Burton (Debbie); grandchildren, Brandon, Nicole, Justin, Nicholas and Ricky; great-grandchildren, Trinity, Nevaeh and Amanda; two brothers and one sister. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and retired from Patrick Chevrolet and a member of Antioch Baptist Church. Memorial services to be held at Antioch Baptist Church, Sandston, Va. on August 30, 2013 at 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

I remember going over to Sam's parents house often with Brenda years ago when our kids were smaller and he was always such a kind man. My thoughts and prayers go out to the entire family.
