James McClafferty Obituary
James J. "Jim" McClafferty passed away peacefully in Vallejo.
Jim was born in Johnstown, Pa., to John and Thelma McClafferty. After a four-year enlistment in the U.S. Navy he settled in Vallejo, living here over fifty years. He retired in 1986 after 29 years of service as a Pipe Fitter foreman at Mare Island.
Jim loved to travel, play bingo, and train award-winning bird hunting dogs. He enjoyed spending time outdoors with his two small dogs.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Marcia LaPreal McClafferty, his mother and father, and his great-grandson Dashric Eugene.
Survivors include his wife of 18 years, Beverly McClafferty; daughters, Pearl Anne "Annie" McClafferty and Helen (David) Hennagin, of American Canyon; sons, James J. McClafferty, Jr. (Sandra) of Battle Ground, WA, David (Kimberly) McClafferty of Napa, and step-son David (Terri) Nyemaster of Killeen, Texas; nine grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and three step great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother John "Jack" (Pat) McClafferty and his sister Lois Kosanovich of Johnstown, Pennsylvania, and his brother Thomas "Tuck" (Betty) McClafferty of Vallejo. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A private graveside service will be held. Donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
