Roger Petrie Obituary
Dr. Roger A. Petrie, 51, passed away Tuesday at Sutter Solano Medical Center in Vallejo surrounded by his family.
Roger was born to Larry and Molly Petrie on Feb. 12, 1964. He was a native and lifelong resident of Vallejo. He graduated from Hogan High School in 1982, UCLA in 1987 and Life Chiropractic College in 1989. He owned and operated Petrie Chiropractic in Vallejo the past 25 years.
Roger was an active member and pillar of our community. He was a member and former Director of the Vallejo Police Activities League, Vallejo Chamber of Commerce and Vallejo Rotary Club. He was a member of the Native Sons of the Golden West and supported or was affiliated with a great many worthy, local causes. He loved Vallejo. His "hobby" was being active and involved but most of all, he loved being with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Herbert "Ace" Petrie, Dorothy Post and Mildred Thompson.
Survivors include his wife of 26 years, Debbie; daughters, Kelsey (Michael) and Melissa (Zach); son, Nicholas; parents, Larry and Molly; sister, Shawna; brother, Mark (Lisa); nieces, Lacie, Marisa, Caylie and Gracie; and his nephew, Dallas.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 6 p.m., Sunday at Twin Chapels Mortuary, 1100 Tennessee St., Vallejo. Vigil Service will held at 7:30 p.m. Sunday and Mass of Christian burial will be held 11 a.m., Monday both at St. Basil's Catholic Church, 1230 Nebraska St., Vallejo. Burial will follow at All Souls Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are preferred to the Roger Petrie Family Memorial Fund c/o Larry or Molly Petrie.

Dr. Petrie lived a life of serving his patients, and people with excellence.
Those who knew him, and the many
lives he touched, can attest to this,
through his warm, friendly, and professional interaction with everyone that I have had the pleasure of observing.
Dr. Petrie was the best chiropractic
doctor I have ever meet. My heart
is deeply saddened at the recent news of his early death.
My last seeing him, he and his entire
family was at the Elk's Boxing Event
approximately 2 1/2 years ago. It was one of most rewarding evening
to enjoy an event, and seeing Dr.
Petrie full of life, health, and visiting
with freinds.
May the peace of God be with the
family, friends, and patients of whom, Dr. Petrie gave so much of
his time. Athought he is absent in the body, Dr. Petrie is present with
the LORD. BE STRONG.

It's so hard to believe that I won't see Roger's great smile or hear his infectious laugh again. What a good friend I have lost. He was always there to help me during tough times. If only more people could be as kind, generous, caring, and genuine as Rog. He was the Executive Producer of our film "Up for Grabs," and my times with him at film festivals and just talking about the project before, during, and after its completion are my favorite memories of the whole thing. He brought so much joy and positive vibe to everything he was involved with. I miss Rog in a big way. I take solace in the fact that he had a great and happy life. He was so devoted to his wife Debbie and their children. My condolences to the Petrie family. As Rog would say (and surely is saying from Heaven right now): "Keep on keepin' on!"

Roger was always available to help me when I did something stupid that hurt my hip or my back. He really cared and wanted to help. He sent birthday cards that came with a free adjustment and he told me to save them up if I didn't use them that year (they never expired). It wasn't about the money with Roger, he just wanted to help you feel better. Rest in Peace Roger. Praying God sends his Angels to comfort family and friends.

We lost one of the most giving and caring men I know,when my good friend Roger passed away.He was a pillar within this community,who touched so many people's lives.Personally Roger helped me get through a tough time in my life,when I injured my back,and I was struggling to get through the rigors of everyday life.He was the man with the smile and uplifting attitude,that motivated me to believe I could be strong again!Rog always provided free physicals for all my athletes and for all of Vallejo'youths.He was always there to help sponsor my East Vallejo Future Stars travel baseball team and treated my children when they had numerous sports related injuries.He was always there for me and my family.I will never forget how excited Rog was, when the film"Up for Grabs"debuted.He was one of the major backers for the film,and he made sure all his friends had tickets.This man Rog was a true example of a man who lived by the motto"Live to give".My last conversation with my buddy was at the CC baseball camp 6 weeks ago,had I known it was gonna be the last time I would talk to my friend,I would have given him a big hug and told him thanks for everything you have done for me and thanks buddy for inspiring me to be the best man I can be!I love you buddy,I will hold it down for you, in the community of Vallejo,and never forget your legacy!
