George Wesley Dervinis passed away at his home on April 24, 2017, at the age of 75.
He was born Oct. 25, 1941, in Newark, N.J., to the late Ella M. (Massaker) Dervinis. He grew up in Plymouth.
For over 40 years, George owned and operated Lower End Pizza in Larksville. Through his business and civic work, George positively impacted the lives of several generations on the West Side. His pagach was legendary, and people would drive from all over Northeastern Pennsylvania to enjoy it. Serving food and drink with both wit and charm, George was a friendly shoulder to lean on to many for decades.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, a past master at Plymouth Lodge 332 of the Free Masons, and served on the Wyoming Valley West School Board. During his retirement, he enjoyed playing cards, spending time with his friends at the Legion, reading and watching movies.
George was a loving father to three children: George, of Kingston, Haley, of Philadelphia, and Todd, of Fort Lauderdale, Fla. He is survived by them along with his sisters, Annette Smerdon, Elly Koretic, Sharon Balint and Debbie Turak; and brothers, Bill Dervinis and Wesley Dervinis.
Following his wishes, there will be no service, but we ask that you take a moment to remember George, and toast your glass to him if appropriate.
P.S. Don't drink and drive.
Arrangements were entrusted to the Daniel J. Hughes Funeral & Cremation Service, 617 Carey Ave., Wilkes-Barre.

Heaven awaits the Pagach King!
Working at Lower End was my first job after turning 16. Since then I never stopped cooking. George you allowed it to be fun but also showed how hard you had to work at it to be successful.
You gave many years to many families or friends dinner time together. I drive by and always think " remember when"
We grew up going there and you can't find a Thick n Chewy pizza or a Pagach like you served around. Rest in peace, condolences to your family and friends.
