JENKINS TWP. — Marlene A. Insalaco, 72, of Jenkins Township, passed away Saturday, Aug. 12, 2017, at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Taylor, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Mary (Pitarra) Nardone. A graduate of Jenkins Township High School, she was a member of St. Maria Goretti Parish, Laflin. Marlene was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, Marlene was preceded in death by a brother, Anthony P. Nardone; brother-in-law, John Burke; and a sister-in-law, Providence Katarsky.
Surviving are her husband of 51 years, Santo "Sandy" A. Insalaco Sr.; sons, Santo "Sandy" A. Insalaco Jr. and his wife, Geralyn, of Yatesville, and Michael Insalaco and his wife, Nina, of Maricopa, Ariz.; grandchildren, Dominica, Rachel, Santo III, Julia and Stephen Insalaco; brothers-in-law, Michael Insalaco and his wife, Dolores, of Moosic, Leonard Insalaco and his wife, Lita, of Pittston, Vincent Insalaco and his wife, Corrine, of Shavertown, and Norbert Katarsky, of Harding; sisters-in-law, Betty Nardone, of Pittston, Carmella Dixon and her husband, Leonard, of Moosic, Theresa Burke, of Jenkins Township, and Grace Dvornicky and her husband, Joe, of Jenkins Township; numerous nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2017, in St. Maria Goretti Parish, 42 Redwood Drive, Laflin, with Father James J. Walsh, JCL, pastor, officiating. The Parish Rosary Group will pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet and Rosary in the church 30 minutes before the Mass. Those attending are asked to go directly to church on Wednesday. Interment will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Carverton. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2017, at Adonizio Funeral Home LLC, 251 William St., Pittston.
Memorial donations may be made in Marlene's memory to Misericordia University, 301 Lake St., Dallas, PA 18612 or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN.
