Doris Ely Obituary
84, of 12281 Hilltop Rd. S.W. Baltic, died Thursday Nov. 17, 2011 at 5:07 a.m. in Oak Pointe Nursing Home at Baltic after an extended illness. Born Jan. 23, 1927 in Sugarcreek she was a daughter of the late Lester and Katherine (Widder) Hostetler. She was a homemaker and was formerly employed at Miller's Dutch Kitchen at Baltic. She was also the former secretary of the Baltic Community Club and she enjoyed traveling on bus trips.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Ely whom she married Feb. 29, 1951. Also surviving are three sons, Larry Ely of Baltic, Dave (Diane) Ely of Sugarcreek and Keith (Dawn) Ely of Baltic; four grandchildren, Jason Ely, Dana (Bobby) Kieffer, Keith Ely and Stephanie Ely; two great- grandchildren, Justin and Meghan Kieffer; a sister, Betty Disler of Sugarcreek; and a brother, Jim (Cathy) Hostetler of Sugarcreek. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward and Richard Hostetler.
Graveside services will be held Saturday Nov. 19, 2011 at 1 p.m. in West Lawn Cemetery at Baltic with Rev. Jayne Byler officiating. Following services a luncheon will be held in the Smith Family Center adjacent to the funeral home. There are no public calling hours. Smith-Varns Funeral Home in Sugarcreek is handling the arrangements. For those unable to attend please visit the funeral home's web site to share a memory and sign the guest register. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Community Hospice of Tuscarawas County at 201 W. 3rd St. Dover, OH 44622.

Richard and Family,
I wanted to send along condolences from my dad and mom (Jack and Jerry). Dad said he was sorry to lose another cousin and he wanted you to know you have his sympathy. Mom's Alzheimers has prevented them from staying in touch. Take care and know that Doris was well liked and will always be remembered.

Richard Ely and family I only no Dave but I would like to give you my sympathy in the loss of your Mom no one know what it is like and what you are going through each one of us look at our loss differently It is all OK. You have the memories that will give you more comfort in time. God is good and no's what he is doing. In the
