Bruce Snyder Obituary

Snyder, Bruce A. EASTON Bruce Allen Snyder, 79, of Easton, formerly of Scotia, passed away at home Sunday evening, October 13, 2013 after a short but valiant fight with cancer. He worked all his life in the construction field as a dockbuilder. He spent many years portraying Santa Claus and visiting families and parties throughout the Capital Region on Christmas Eve.. bringing smiles to hundreds of children of all ages. Bruce is survived by his wife of over 60 years, Carolin Wheeler Snyder. He is also survived by his children, David A. (Linda), Danial B. (Lisa), and Jennifer Depew (William). He leaves behind four grandchildren, Shannon, Mason, Corey, and Shelby; and three great-grandchildren, Dominick, Joshua, and Lucille. He is also survived by his sister, Carol (Richard) Haight and brother-in-law, James (Sheila) Wheeler. He is survived by several very dear nieces and nephews and their children. Bruce requested to be cremated. A memorial will be held at the Bekkering-Ellis Funeral Home, 1 Mohawk Ave., Scotia on Saturday, October 19, 2013. Calling hours will be 2 to 3:30 followed immediately by a memorial service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The American Cancer Society, Hospice, or a charity of your choice in memory of Bruce A. Snyder.
