Harriet Loftus

Loftus, Harriet (Gade) ALBANY Harriet Gade Loftus, 90, entered into eternal rest on Friday, January 28, 2011. She was born in Albany and had been a lifelong resident. She was the daughter of Harry and Anna Gade, beloved and devoted mother of Barbara (John) Ahl of Halfmoon and Michael (Margaret) Loftus of Guilderland. She is also survived by her loving grandchildren, Deborah (Dan) Tabacco Murray, Anthony Tabacco, Jason (Stacy) Couchman, Patrick, Christopher and Sean Duffy and David and Matthew Loftus. She was the much loved great-grandmother to Connor and Ana Murray and Veronica and Peter Couchman. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles and by three daughters, Jean, Judith and Carole Loftus. She was also predeceased by her second husband, Robert. She was the caring stepgrandmother of Laura Ahl. Harriet was also the very dear friend of Sue Mealo, Linda MacHaffie, Ann Lawton, Dorothy Thomas and Kelly Higgins. She enjoyed golf, reading, crossword puzzles, bridge and most of all spending time with her family. Funeral will be held Monday at 8:15 a.m. from the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 Rt. 9 in Clifton Park and thence to St. Mary's Church, Crescent where at 9:00 a.m. a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Sunday from 3-5 p.m. Interment will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Colonie, N.Y.
