Mark Hesselbacher Obituary

Hesselbacher, Mark
VOORHEESVILLE - Mark A. Hesselbacher, of Voorheesville, N.Y., passed away Sunday, January 7, 2024, at Riverview Hospital in Red Bank, N.J. He was 66 years old. Mark was born to Martin and Miriam Hesselbacher in Great Neck, N.Y., on December 17, 1957. Over the years, he lived in New York, New Jersey, California, North Carolina and Florida, and for the last 19 years he made Voorheesville, N.Y. his home.
Mark graduated from SUNY Maritime with a Bachelors in Electrical Engineering and his Masters in Science Management at Polytechnic. He received his Coast Guard License as a 3rd assistant engineer for steam and motor vessels. Mark worked for 40 years at four major corporations: Foster Wheeler Energy Corp., Nestle, Pfizer and PepsiCo. He made the lives of the people he worked with better.
Mark was known for his eclectic hobbies and dry, quirky sense of humor. He collected rocks and stones from famous locations and buildings from all over the world (and outer space). He immersed himself in Japanese and Samurai culture, even building himself a Japanese garden with a Koi Pond in his backyard.
He loved working outdoors, collecting rare books, visiting museums, reading mystery novels, listening to classical music and driving around in his antique 1973 Volkswagen Beetle and 1951 Chevrolet Truck.
Mark's greatest legacy and accomplishment was as a husband of 34 years to his wife, Victoria Hesselbacher and as a father to their two children. He is survived by his beloved daughter, Emily; and son-in-law, Nicholas Hebert; and cherished son, Martin; and daughter-in-law, Sara Hesselbacher; his cousins; his brothers and sisters-in-law; nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and great-nephews. Mark can be remembered by his kindness and generosity to all of those around him. Mark will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be held Monday, January 15, 2024, from 4-8 p.m., at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, 26 Mule Road, Toms River, N.J. 08755.
A Memorial and Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m., on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at Ocean County Memorial Park, Toms River, N.J. 08755.

Mark you will be truly missed. You always kept us intrigued by your knowledge of random things. Always willing to have a good laugh but yet always got the work done. You were a great leader for Pepsi and i am so glad i was able to work with you in Albany. You will be missed.
