Patrick Zucaro Obituary
TROY - Patrick L. Zucaro, age 93 of Troy, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 7, 2023, surrounded by his immediate family at the Stratton VA Medical Center in Albany where he embraced the comfort and care given to our nation's heroes.
Patrick, known as "Zuco," was the son of the late Pasquale M. and Maria Valenti Zucaro. Patrick was a proud United States Army veteran serving his country during the Korean War.
He owned and operated Zucaro's Imperial Wine and Liquor Store in Troy for over 45 years.
Patrick was a graduate of LaSalle Institute where he enjoyed playing sports. He was a past member of the Troy Italian Community Center. Patrick was an avid fan of both the New York Yankees and New York Giants.
Patrick was a devoted husband to his wife, Sally Kilgallon Zucaro, cherishing their marriage of over 70 years. Survivors in addition to his beloved wife, Sally, include his son, Patrick J. Zucaro (Vincenza); daughter, Mary Jo Schneider (Louis "Louie"); grandchildren, Pasquale, Peter and Bianca Zucaro and Brooke Gross (Mark); and great-grandchildren, James, Marianna and Anthony Jerian and Sienna Gross. Also surviving are his stepsisters, Catherine Esposito (late, Paul) and Josephine Smith (late, Warren). Patrick was predeceased by his brother and sister, Marco and Jane Zucaro; his stepmother, Josephine Rea Zucaro; his cousin and adopted sister, Edith Farina; and his infant grandson, Eugene Patrick Zucaro.
Our family wishes to thank Vince Comis, Edward Yamin Sr. and Carl Ostwald for their lifelong friendship with our dad. A special thanks to the dedicated staff at the Albany VA Medical Center, especially Floor 7B Nursing staff, for providing outstanding care for our dad for over 50 years.
Relatives and friends are invited to the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc., 565 Fourth Avenue (corner of 115th Street in Lansingburgh) Troy, for calling hours on Friday, February 10, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and for the funeral service at 12 p.m. Interment with military honors will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Troy.

I´m so sad to hear this news of Zuco passing. As a kid I would always stop by with him and cousin Ed... I always enjoyed our conversations and life´s lessons. On holidays would always stop by to get what we needed at his store. Great memories.He was a great man ! My condolences to all
