Paula Mazzotti Obituary

Mazzotti, Paula SCHENECTADY Paula Mazzotti, 95, of Schenectady, passed away peacefully at home Friday, January 6. 2017. She was born to the late Victor and Caesarina (Paladini) Puccinelli in Pignone, Italy on September 1, 1921. Her family moved to Lucca, Italy when she was 10 years old. Paula met her long time love, Sam, when he was an Infantry solider in the U.S. Army during World War II. At 25 years old, she moved to Schenectady. They married on April 13, 1947, and celebrated 51 years of marriage before Sam's passing on October 6, 1998. Paula was a devout Catholic, kind, compassionate and always acceptable of everyone. Her faith in God and St. Gemma, her patron saint, brought her through her journey of life. Her biggest joys were her family, friends, cooking and traveling. Recently, this past July, being with her entire family on Cape Cod for her grandson's wedding brought her much happiness and comfort. For more than 30 years, Paula worked as a seamstress in Schenectady. For the majority of her career, she worked at the former Dall's Clothing Store in Latham. Survivors include her children. Sam (Mary) Mazzotti of Cape Coral, Fla., Phyllis (Mike) Palma of Schenectady and Victor (Liz) Mazzotti of Guilderland; grandchildren, Tina (Kevin) Richards of Rancho Mission Viejo, Calif., Tracy Mazzotti of Schenectady, Samantha (Chris Weiss) Mazzotti of Tampa, Kristie (Fred) Lott of Schenectady, Victor (Danielle) Mazzotti Jr. of Latham and Philip (Nicole) Mazzotti of Malta; and eight great-grandchildren, who will forever miss their loving Noni. Besides her parents and husband, Sam; Paula was predeceased by her brother, Bruno Puccinelli. The family wishes to extend sincere thanks to all of her doctors, friends, dedicated and loving home health care nurses and Deacon Bob Sweeney for all their support and kindness these past few months. A private Mass of Christian Burial was held in St. Luke's Roman Catholic Church in Schenectady followed by burial in St. Anthony's Cemetery, Glenville. Conferring the honor of escorting Paula to eternal rest beside her beloved husband, were her grandchildren, Tracy Mazzotti, Victor Mazzotti Jr., Philip Mazzotti and Fred Lott. Memorials, in lieu of flowers, may be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

To Sam, Phyllis & Victor
We are at a loss for words to hear of the sudden passing of Comara Paula. It is always sad to lose good friends like Comara and Comparo to death. The key to our friendship is to keep them in our hearts so that when the time comes and we meet again, we can pick up the friendship right where we left off. Our deepest sympathy to you and your families.
