In loving memory of my Uncle, Peter J. Bennett.

When I'm called to duty God
wherever flames may rage
give me strength to save a life
whatever be its age

Help me to embrace a little child
before it is too late
or save an older person from
the horror of that fate

Enable me to be alert
to hear the weakest shout
and quickly and efficiently
to put the fire out

I want to fill my calling and
to give the best in me
to guard my neighbor and
protect his property

Rest in peace.

Gerry,

These words are filled with thoughts and understanding, and more than anything else with a hope that each day ahead will bring a measure of comfort. May all of your happy memories help to ease the sorrow that you feel.

Pete was an outstanding person who carried a wealth of knowledge, he certainly was known by all throughout the fire service. We will all miss him as he has answered his final alarm.
