EAST GREENBUSH - Richard H. Hall, 76 of East Greenbush, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 25, 2023.
He was predeceased by his mother and father, Carl and Marie (Till) Hall.
Rick enjoyed the camaraderie of his close friends; work associates at the N.Y.S. Department of Social Services; and car enthusiasts, who will remember him for his humor, stoicism, sarcasm, clarity of thoughts, and encyclopedic mind. He enjoyed being a part of a weekly trivia team and meeting friends to watch Sunday football at the neighborhood meeting place.
Rick surrounded himself with the works of Edward Hopper, as well as the music in his extensive CD collection, including Jazz, Blues, and his favorite, Tom Waits. He also embraced the "Beat Generation" and held Neal Cassady in highest regard.
He enjoyed watching auto racing and going to car shows with friends. He owned many unconventional automobiles such as his 1949 MGTC, Shelby TVR Griffith and his latest TVR Venture which he completely rebuilt from chassis to custom interior. Rick also partnered in a used car venture called Quality Auto.
A celebration of Rick's life will be held at a later date.
