Conway, Rosemary RENSSELAER Rosemary Conway passed away peacefully on Monday, September 26, 2022, at the age of 96, surrounded by her loving family. Born on May 9, 1926, she was the middle daughter of the late Phillip and Grace Garry of Albany. Rosemary grew up in Albany, graduated from The Vincentian Institute, and completed several business courses at Siena College. She married her high school sweetheart, Walter Robert "Bob" Conway, and together they spent the next 70 years raising a family and building a wonderful life together. She retired as deputy commissioner at the Albany County Board of Elections after a long career, notably representing New York as a delegate to the National Convention. She always had a great interest following world events, reading a good book, and traveling to scenic places throughout the United States in their RV. What brought her the most joy was spending time with her family on the beaches of Cape Cod, Rhode Island, and Florida. Rosemary was a longtime member of the Catholic Women's Service League and believed strongly in giving back to her community. Affectionally called "Nan," she inspired her family by her sense of humor and always living life to the fullest. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Bob; brother, Phillip Garry; and sisters, Betty Colloton and Joan Oropallo. She leaves behind her children, Peter (Trish), Robert (Linda), Garry (Patty), Susan Prince (Fred) and Timothy (Deirdre). She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Lauren Modahl (Martin), Ryan Conway (Molly), Meghan Robbins (Josh), Sean Conway (Luke Hall), Kait Wilson (Dan), Maeve, Fiona, and Quinn Conway, Hollie and Kellie Prince; and her great-grandchildren, Leah and Emily Robbins, Aerin Modahl, Norah and Siobhan Conway, Malcolm and Cecilia Wilson. The family would like to thank St. Peter's Hospice and the aides from We Care Most for their wonderful care and compassion. Friends and relatives may pay their respects on Saturday in St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, 163 Columbia Tpke., Rensselaer at 10 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow at 11:30 a.m. COVID-19 protocols will be followed. Interment will follow the Mass in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Catholic Women's Service League of Albany, 391 Western Ave., Albany, NY 12203.
