I just met you today at 3 Care Lane. You were next to me in chair 2, and while we were discussing our health issues and treatment plans, you also mentioned the tragic loss of your son only a few months before your diagnosis. I looked it up online and was taken aback to see that the son you were talking about was Scott. Both my husband and I were high school teachers at Saratoga. We had the pleasure and honor to get to know and to have your son in class. He was a wonderful young man even at that young age, probably a 9th or 10th grader. I wish I had found out his name while we were talking just so that I could've told you personally how he left such a positive impact on all those who had the privilege to know him. Both my husband and I send our condolences and prayers to you and your family.

I met Scott last summer when he came to France. He fit incredibly well with everyone he met in my family (even those who didn't speak english), and joined our rock-climbing escapade with enthusiasm. I wish I'd known him more, he was a truly wonderful and kind person who brought light and joy to everyone he met. My sympathies to all his family and friends.

I met Scott in a class at Carnegie Mellon University while I was a junior and he was a freshman. I didn't really know anyone in the class and wasn't expecting to make any friends, but Scott and I happened to sit next to each other and we very quickly became friends. He had such a kind, warm spirit, and I remember looking forward to sitting next to him to catch up on our day. After that class ended, I wasn't sure how close we would stay in touch, but whenever I bumped into him on campus, Scott would walk me to my class just to ask how I was doing and check in on me. He truly was the sweetest. He even reached out to me after I graduated so that we could stay in touch, and I regret not making more of an effort to talk to him. I will always remember him as a dear friend and will miss him tremendously. My heart goes out to his family.

I didn't ever get the good fortune to meet Scott. I used to work for Bob, Scott's Dad. And every single time Bob would talk about his son or his daughter his face would light up in the most extraordinary way. From listening to Bob I know Scott was a shining star with a big heart and a sharp mind. It is a loss for this world that he was taken from all of us too early.

I've only known Scott for the last month or so. On Sundays I sometimes go into Google to use their woodshop when it's quiet. That's where I met Scott. Him and I had a number of conversations about work, life, and woodworking/hobbies in a short amount of time. What really stood out to me was how incredibly kind and well spoken Scott was about everything. I remember the last project I saw him working on was a wooden shoe rack made out of 100% reclaimed wood that he found lying around Brooklyn.
My heart goes out to Scott's family. While I only knew him for a very short period of time, Scott left a lasting impression on me personally.

May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times that you shared together. May our loving Heavenly Father provide you with the comfort and support that you need during this difficult time. (Psalm 145:18, 19) Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences goes out to the family

Scott was a fantastic person, always willing to help with a big smile painted across his face. I met Scott at Carnegie Mellon University when he was a teaching assistant for a course that I dreaded taking. Scott made the whole experience a lot easier and more enjoyable, and with that course, I also made a friend. He'd spend countless hours helping me work through my assignments and would always greet me with a big smile as we walked past each other on campus. He was always up for a good conversation about the happenings of the world, and I loved hearing his inspired opinions. He was an incredibly brilliant and passionate guy with a determined outlook on how to make the world a better place. Scott, you will be missed dearly.

Scott was the quintessential good person. Though we weren't close, it was clear from my conversations with him that he was ambitious, genuinely kind, and absolutely capable of achieving all the good things he wanted to do. He made a strong impression on everyone around him. I'm sorry for your loss.

I spent an evening with Scott at his Pittsburgh home. Throughout the night we shared many laughters and conversations. The house was filled with good music, friends, and many stories as we talked about his favorite hot chocolate and traded recipes. His warm heart filled his home and left a mark on those he met even for the few hours we shared.

His great grandmother called him a Little Gentleman. She was afraid of bugs. Since he was four, every time she was in the yard, he made sure she had a fly swatter or badminton racket close to her lawn chair. He loved his Mama, dad, and sister with same loving care. It is no surprise to those of us who knew him since he was young, that he would become, in every sense that one could realize, a Gentleman Genius. Since he was little, he was a humanitarian, and a little professor and scientist. He always wanted to fix broken things or build things - and if you were sick or sad - he always had a song for you or a swirly little dance. Anything he learned, he would recite to you in a long narrative or draw it for you. My favorites were gifts to me, a skyline of ancient Egypt, a zebra, and a Mayan Pyramid surrounded by hearts. He brought special love to his parents and sister, and I know they will continue his legacy with a special recognition. I believe his loving spirit always will be present to all of us who knew and appreciated him. "Ant Tricha"

My thoughts and prayers are with your entire family during this extremely tragic, difficult time. I know I can find no words that can provide enough comfort during this time when there are endless questions and the pain is so raw. It is incomprehensible, an being called back to God so young. When I heard the news, I told Kristi that Scott was such a kind, genuine, brilliant young man who was full of wisdom well beyond his years. All of these qualities are what God looks for in an angel. For most, it takes until were very old to be called back as an angel once we master these qualities here on Earth and are then needed in heaven. But for some, they reach these perfect qualities well before their time. Scott was one of those people. It was such an honor to know such a special person. If there is any way I can provide comfort to your family, please let me know. I am always here for you all.

Scott was a fine young man and it is tragic that his life was cut short. We had the pleasure of knowing him as a good friend of our grandson, Conor Maddry, who worked, hiked and pole vaulted with Scott. Scott visited with Conor at Lake Desolation several times and he was always pleasant and polite. Our hearts go out to his family in this time of grief.
